Ohio Bill Exempting Some Work-From-Home injuries From Work Comp Under Review
Updated: Oct 22, 2021
COLUMBUS, OH — An Ohio bill has been introduced that would make certain injuries that occur while working from home exempt from workers’ compensation unless certain conditions are met.
H.B. 447 would make exceptions if the following conditions are met: The injury or disability arises out of the employee's employment; the employment necessarily exposes the employee to conditions that substantially contribute to the risk of injury or disability; and the injury or disability is sustained in the course of an activity undertaken by the employee for the exclusive benefit of the employer.
The bill was sent to the House Insurance Committee last week.
