Nine Lawyers in the Running for Lifetime Position on RI Workers' Compensation Court

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Judicial Nominating Commission this week picked nine lawyers to interview for an opening on the state Workers’ Compensation Court. This vacancy was created by the retirement of Judge George T. Salem Jr.


Those on the list include Joseph W. Baglini, of the Boston firm Engelberg & Bratcher; Jack R. DeGiovanni Jr., a partner with Rappoport, DeGiovanni & Caslowitz Inc.; Joelle M. Hays, a partner with Morrison Mahoney LLP; Hagop S. Jawharjian, a sole practitioner in Johnston; George J. Lazieh, with the Law Offices of Steven B. Stein; and Jeffrey M. Liptrot, a probate judge in Scituate and partner with Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP. Also up for consideration are Moira E. Reynolds, of the Law Office of Michael D. Lynch, which provides in-house counsel to Beacon Mutual Insurance Co.; Alfred A. Russo Jr., of the Pawtucket firm Shechtman Halperin Savage LLP; and Michael A. St. Pierre, a partner with Revens Revens St. Pierre & Wyllie.


This is a lifetime position and has a base salary of $153,340.
